Domagoj talks about the small, everyday transition rites of his friends – moving to another flat, travelling, breaking up, quitting smoking, changing profession... or merely hairstyle. But, in opposition to Van Gennep, his concept of transition does not include the phases that precede or follow the liminal one – Domagoj recognizes transition only. Being familiar with his biographic background – constant overextension between photography, poetry and architecture, New York and Zagreb, easy cheerfulness and heavy melancholies, it is difficult for me not to notice that the transitions of his friends talk a lot more about him than about them. |
