At Days of Oris 10, held in Zagreb on 23 and 24 October 2010, spoke architect Bijoy Jain, the founder of Mumbai Studio. In his lecture he spoke about the state of contemporary architecture in India and its relationship with cultural conditions. His lecture has been posted in full.

Born in Mumbai in 1965. Received his M.Arch from Washington  University  in  St  Louis, USA in  1990. Worked in Los Angeles and London from 1989 to 1995. Returned to India in 1995 and founded his practice. Studio Mumbai is a human infrastructure of skilled craftsmen and architects who design and build their work directly. Gathered through time, this group shares an environment created  from an iterative process, where ideas are explored through the production of large-scale mock-ups, models, material  studies, sketches and drawings. The essence of the work lies in  the relationship between land and architecture.
