At Dubrovnik Days of Oris which took place from 26 to 28 April 2013 spoke Portugal architect Manuel Aires Mateus. In his lecture , he presented his studio's project and explained his additute towards space and spatial connections, while emphasizing the architect's obligation to listen and create architecture in real world. His lecture has been posted in full.

Manuel Aires Mateus was born in Lisbon in 1963. Graduated in architecture from fa/utl, Lisbon in 1986. Teacher in Graduate School of Design, Harvard University, 2002 and 2005; invited teacher in Faculty of Architecture in Ljubljana, 2003/04. Teacher in Accademia di Architectura, Mendrízio, Switzerland, since 2001; professor in Universidade Autónoma, Lisbon, since 1998; professor in Universidade Lusíada, Lisbon, since 1997. Manuel Aires Mateus and Francisco Aires Mateus started developing their own projects as authors in 1988.
