The not large island of Silba, situated in the central part of the Adriatic, is a unique place. Its rather mild topography, without particularly high hills allowed construction similar to carpet structure and the urbanized zone stretches almost continuously in the narrowest, central part of the island from one coast to the other. Houses and courtyards encircled with walls are lined in a regular rhythm and public paths meander among them.
