For many decades, the small town of Bad Radkersburg in South Styria was not among the best developed Austrian regions as a result of adverse political conditions. Only after the discovery of thermal springs in the mid 1970s and the development of an adequate infrastructure for tourism, did this town establish the foundations for economic survival.
