One of the many virtues of the ‘Six Virgins’ is its attempt to confront inequality in a country like Chile, which is in the middle of its development process. Even though the project was designed as religious infrastructure, its ultimate purpose is to generate a space where the inhabitants of six different rural towns can meet and organize, with the common objective of improving their quality of life. Although it was designed as a Diploma Project at Talca University’s School of Architecture, its low-tech and low-cost can have a high-impact upon a portion of Chile’s socio-political reality.
