Within contemporary context it is quite rare to find architectural solutions that are based on load bearing construction as a crucial element of the programmatic and spatial disposition. The innovative structure of the Leutschenbach School in Zürich by Christian Kerez compresses the programme into a vertical organization freeing the schoolyard for pupils’ activities.
