The students of TYIN Tegnestue, now already architects, spent the autumn of 2008 in Thailand near the border with Burma looking for a suitable project with assistance from local NGOs. Finally they met Mrs Tasanee, the leader of Safe Haven Orphanage. This institution is her life’s work, offering a home for a growing number of war orphans resulting from the ongoing violent suppression of the Karen minority in Burma.
