Far away from the architecture commonly understood and valued as a cultural contribution, and from the huge grey area of featureless legal construction without identity, we all know too well there exists a world of so-called illegal construction – ‘edifices without identity card’ – some kind of demi-monde with a different social origin, which can be found all around the world, as well as in Croatia. But no matter how much we ignore, don’t acknowledge and feel aversion to these edifices they are still part of our social reality and we should learn how to deal with them.
