Make things Visible

The best things about museums are the windows (Bonnard)

A museum is primarily its programme; a museum, just like a work of art, creates its recipient; but a museum of contemporary art is also architecture in itself, the way in which the building reacts to or fits with the programme. Of course, there are two ways to establish a museum: by strategically redesigning old buildings, or by building new ones. Both decisions are equally delicate and apt, if we acknowledge that architecture offers no direct correlation, either conceptual or actual, between the construction and the programme.
