With an almost century-old tradition of artistic performances in public spaces, outside gallery and theatre walls on the one hand, and the institutionalization of so-called Public Art as a separate artistic discipline on the other, UrbanFestival attempts to redefine artistic practices in public spaces in changed post-industrial conditions.
