The Lapidarium is a space that deserves a special place in presenting the cultural history of the Eastern Adriatic. It is a space where stone fragments are exhibited and the material traces which are part of the Eastern Adriatic culture are almost entirely based on stone. Therefore, the ironic name for the Croatian national identity, which is described by the term ‘genes of stone’, is not surprising.
