For a long time now, photography has been, without a doubt, the most important resource in the promotion of contemporary architecture, a tool without which it cannot present itself adequately anymore. The remarks that accompany the photographs have been shifted to the edge, restricted to the notation of merely technical details and most often consisting of only a description of the photographs. Could this be any different? I agreed to accept the difficult task of presenting in written form the last three projects/houses by architect Nande Korpnik: the Menerga Office Building in Maribor (2003), the Maksimilijan Office and Residential Building in Celje (2005) and the Brinje Office Building in Ljubljana (2005). I have been following his architecture from the first house onwards, and for almost two years now we have been meeting every week in some restaurant in Celje to discuss Slovenian architecture. This text therefore is an attempt to draw up this architect’s profile.
