On the earth, really close, there are places and things that make it possible to decipher thoughts and promote understanding. Here, all around, there are materials and processes which need the right gaze and perception to enable us to see the fragments of our living surroundings – the forgotten, the concealed, the lost and the suppressed become visible in the series of images by Friedl Fessler.

 

They have something of an excursion into earlier history or even the subconscious, where language meets buried images, a sphere where meanings were still fresh and intact, where everything was clear and simple.
