Lord Richard Rogers, winner of Golden lion for lifetime achievment on this year Architecture Biennale in Venice, chairs the British government's Urban Task Force (UTF), meets the Mayor of London every week to discuss city planning, advises the Barcelona local authorities on urban development, and is the man who has largely determined what the Nieuw Zuid district of Antwerp will look like in a few years' time. His architectural firm, Richard Rogers Partnership (RRP), designed the new courthouse that has been built in that district, a landmark that has radically changed the Antwerp skyline and placed this seaport city on the architectural map.
