The first premise was to build in an exceptional location: the main entrance to Sines, a link between the historical centre and the sea port.

The building is located in an exceptional spot in the urban grid, the beginning of the main street linking the city with the sea, the traditional access to the city’s historic center. Different approaches were considered to locate the building in the city’s surrounding areas until the definitive place was found. In the core of Sines the building articulates the historic zone of the castle with the maritime port. The project finally emerged on a site of just over two thousand square meters that were previously occupied by a cinema and a residual parking lot.
