Smart

Booming communications technology and increasing individualization have changed the way people work. Up-and-coming business leaders have changed out of their black business suits and into comfortable Nike sportswear. Individuality has taken the place of standardization.

The new, more individualistic managers have discovered smaller cities. A smaller city size offers a more relaxed, comfortable atmosphere and easy environments in which to live and work. Long subway rides have been replaced by highly developed virtual communications systems. The boundaries between home and the workplace are blurring. Stark, barren corporate decors are making way for workplaces with living-room atmospheres. The universal symbols of corporate business success – sunset glinting off skyscrapers on the city horizon – are now faced with the smart generation of free-thinking managers.
