The Interpretation of the Moment

architects Sivo / Zorislav Petrić

Living in the buildings built during the period of modernist socialism of the past century requires appropriate adaptation. It can be compared to the conversion of industrialist architecture in developed cities where such buildings are adjusted to the modern way of life. In this case the function is the same; however the habits and the needs differ, therefore the way of life needs to be adjusted to habitation.

The apartment is situated on the fourth floor of a corner building built at the end of the 1950s for the employees of the former Post, Telegraph and Telephone Services (ptt). The apartments are accessed from the outside gallery. The building was built in the same period as Vitić’s skyscraper, which is situated across the park that both buildings overlook.
