In order to understand the views, the way of thinking and the architecture of Rafael Aranda (1961), Carme Pigem (1962) and Ramon Vilalta (1960) it is necessary to define the coordinates in which they develop their work and live. The RCR architectural studio is located in the town of Olot in the Catalan province of Girona. This geographical information is not intended as an intro to an anecdote, but it sheds a lot of light on the thinking of the architectural trio inasmuch as it is practically impossible to view their work without taking into account that they decided to return to their hometown when they completed studies in Barcelona.
