A Stripped Camouflage

Although toying with a quasi-geological tempo on the city walls of Palma de Mallorca, the work of jamlet, the practice consisting of José Antonio Martínez Lapeña (Tarragona, 1941) and Elías Torres Tur (Ibiza, 1944), can hardly be described as hectic. The rehabilitation of the Baluarte del Principe, which culminated in 2014, put an ellipsis at the process of the urban adaptation of the old stronghold of Palma. The works began in the eighties and dragged on for thirty years, six stages, and a little less than one kilometer of interventions, highly diverse in character. Insofar it would not make sense to consider this latest milestone as an isolated intervention, both in time and in space.
