If we are looking at the stone and concrete shell, which grew from the karst area on the edge of the village Vrhovlje, next to the Slovenian and Italian border, we are actually looking at the house that still does not exist. Dekleva Gregorič architects designed a compact karst house as a prototype of a one-family home planned on the central part of the land plot, but its completion was stopped by the financial crisis. As a surrogate and experimental object, the small stone volume has been moved to the edge of the land plot, away from the uncompleted building and was used for testing construction techniques and material processing. This object is to serve as a shelter to the young family of four until the conditions are improved and then it will be sold or maybe become a guest house.
