Høse Bridge across the river Suldalslågen in southwest Norway is constructed in the tradition of Chinese lounge bridges. Steel mesh in the middle of the bridge’s decking brings the visual and aural landscape of the river into the body of the bridge.

It looks like an old construction crane that someone has chucked across the river. It doesn´t look like a bridge! complains the old man who gives me a lift back after visiting Høse Bridge. The comparison is somewhat understandable: the bridge consists of two lattice beams in corten steel on each side of a covered walkway.
