A Journey Into the Past

written by Željko Kipke

Two months after the opening of the Venice exhibition, the exhibition above all  exhibitions, as Francesco Bonami, the director of the exhibition, likes to babble about his firstling, I had not significantly changed my attitude towards the event. The time that passed helped me to clarify several details and reaffirmed my attitude that each and every commissioner is a dictator by vocation, although he may try to undertake some actions in the opposite direction. It is known that there are numerous arts and numerous artists and that it is not crucial if something is omitted or not in such a large exhibition as the one in Venice, since everything that is shown is as important as unimportant. The idea of  the viewers’ dictatorship appears to be already very well known.
