The position of Wolfgang Tschapeller is not unambiguously definable in its singularity. He walks the fine line between architectural research and concepts, and artistic expressions, all the while not dividing his œuvre to subcategories but uniting it in a single endeavor. Tschapeller questions the preconceived forms and norms, turning towards the new horizons, and steps out of his time, which is demonstrated in his unprecedented works. Simultaneously, he establishes a close relationship with artists of the past – Kiesler, Constant, Brancusi. Wolfgang Tschapeller is one of the rare authors who translates the reflexes of the surge of the energy of the Austrian avant-garde from the late sixties into our time.
