Francesco Binfaré: The Hand is the Code

interviewed by Ante Nikša Bilić and Filip Gordon Frank

Francesco Binfaré may be relatively unknown to the public, but in the world of design, he is highly revered. He is part of a generation and a peer of Italian maestros and design pioneers such as Massimo Morozzi, Gaetano Pesce or Andrea Branzi, and blends the best ingredients of Italian heritage that walks the fine line between design and art. His sensibility makes him one of the most significant epitomes of the design school that later gave birth to the Italian furniture industry. As an artist and as a designer, he is modest and shy.
