In 1965, on a cliff above the Pacific Ocean in Sonoma County, California, Charles Moore and his partners built the Sea Ranch Condominium 1: a housing complex comprising a dozen apartments positioned around two courtyards. There, under one roof, individualism and commonality coexist, Protruding loggias provide a view of the ocean for everyone, paths and stairs form meeting places and the apartments are connected by a large slanted roof.
