The architectural studio PROARH, led by Davor Mateković, has been present on the Croatian architectural scene for over 25 years, participating in its shifts, as well as reacting to the specifics of the transitional and post-transitional society. PROARH studio engaged in various scales and typologies, from the award-winning vacation homes to Zagreb’s landmarks such as the VMD block, and the studio’s projects show very heterogenous approaches marked by the givens of the context, program requirements and investment circumstances. This is why PROARH, instead of developing a fully consistent author’s signature, prefers to cultivate a method of precise, quick, sometimes even pragmatic reactions to the entry parameters of the project.
