Bridge as a Square

The architecture competition, organized in 2014 by the province of Vorarlberg and the City of Dornbirn sought a bridge that would emphasize the importance of the place as a public transport stop and a gateway to the City of Dornbirn.

The bridge was thought as a concrete structure by the provincial road administration; our concept was to use the qualities of concrete in terms of composition, formability and surface treatment. The perception of dough, rolled out to be the carriageway, bicycle and pedestrian area, pulled up at the edges to shape the parapet and peeled out to create the roofs of the bus stops determines the mould of the bridge.

Everything and all functions as one single piece.
