Choreography of Psychological Experience

architect Vedrana Ergić
interviewed by Ante Nikša Bilić, Alan Kostrenčić

Vedrana Ergić's architectural oeuvre is characterized by the research of space—its transformative and democratic potential—in which the theme of interior space is articulated by means of changing elements that generate different scenarios of use. The main role of the interior, as a narrative structure shaped by the interaction of the user and the materiality, is to create a special ambience and mood. By applying these methods, architect Vedrana Ergić introduces film and theatre vocabulary into the architectural sphere in her own special way. Her linguistics of space underlines Josip Vaništa’s approach within the Zagreb school of interior architecture, which includes authors like Bernardo Bernardi, Vjenceslav Richter, Ines Filipović, Ivan Crnković and Nenad Fabijanić.
