The Japanese tea pavilion was created in collaboration with three architecture schools as a conclusion of a five-year collaboration at the architecture summer schools on the island of Vis. The tea pavilion is actually an expression of gratitude and a gift for a great collaboration with the islanders, a gift designed by students and professors at Keio University in Tokyo with plywood from the Polytechnic University in Milan and the design of structural elements devised at the Slovenj Gradec High School and the Faculty of Architecture in Ljubljana. The joint construction by the university and the local community represents a selfless sharing of ideas about building and the idea of architecture built by collective action.
