The 3M Company, formerly known as the Minnesota Mining and Manufacturing Company, was founded in 1902 in St. Paul, Minnesota. Originally, the company produced abrasive materials for the mining industry until an engineer from the company hit a gold mine in the 1920s – he invented office supplies, whose name Scotch™ became a synonym for the adhesive tape in the English-speaking countries. But, if you only know Scotch™ or Post-it™ products from the product range of this world-famous concern, you are missing around 55,000 products which are sold in six business segments, such as traffic, health care, safety, electronics or communication. The Company's managers believe that, on average, we come across some of the 3M products fourteen times a day.
