A brave house speaks confidently to and of the power and beauty of the landscape

Vast, savage, untameable, wildly unpredictable and spectacularly diverse and beautiful: our unique Australian landscape. Few speak of it with more truthful knowledge and respect than the celebrated author Tim Winton. Addressing the Royal Academy in London recently, Winton discussed the inescapable joy and presence of the landscape in this country, its dominance, impact on our cultural, physical, intellectual and spiritual lives, and of the uncomfortable relationship with architecture.
