The residential building of the Roldán + Berengué architectural practice, codenamed E.I.05, was built as a part of the urban plan for the area around Plaça Europa, the new western access to Barcelona on Gran Via, one of the city’s two most important arteries. It is well known that the urban post-industrial transformation of Barcelona was boosted by the 1992 Olympic Games. Districts like 22@ helped the strategic development of the city which is increasingly turned towards the tertiary and quaternary sectors of the economy.
