Solčava is Slovenia’s Mariazell, an Alpine village located in the upper part of the Savinja river valley, at the foot of the mountains Olšava and Raduha, near the Logarska valley. The settlement was historically more strongly linked with Carinthia than Styria, which is understandable when we go to Solčava along a long, winding road through the Ljubno, Luč and Igle settlements. We experience the idyllic atmosphere of the place under high mountains, dominated by a Gothic church surrounded by a graveyard.
