The Architecture Biennale in Venice, which takes turns every other year with the Contemporary Art Biennale in Venice, has become the most important architectural event in the world during the last decade. Those who have doubts about this refuse to accept the political, social, and cultural environment of architectural production. Earlier, the Architecture Biennale did not really move forward due to organizational reasons; it lived on the reputation of the 1st Architecture Biennale, held in 1980, which introduced the term postmodern and the phenomenon of an architect-star with its theme Presence of the Past.
