Tel Aviv, the expanding metropolis on the Mediterranean coast is a rather young city, growing upon a unique blending of specific modernist foundations that we recognize today as separate traditions. Nowhere else in the world have they come   together   on such a large scale and with such a high degree of consistency of building tissue. On the one hand, Tel Aviv is based on the urbanistic concepts of the British biologist and planner Sir Patrick Geddes, a distinguished British urban planner and leading promoter of  the “garden city” concept.
