TRANSFER: New Digital Architecture Platform

13/09/2016

TRANSFER Global Architecture Platform is a new, independent digital editorial project based on the production and transmission of original architectural knowledge. TRANSFER aims to connect contemporary ideas and practices worldwide to improve the global architectural culture.

TRANSFER offers a platform for featuring original content from architects, researchers, photographers and artists worldwide. Through these encounters which bring together enthusiasts of architecture from different backgrounds, TRANSFER contributes to the discovery of new architectural practices.

TRANSFER publishes bimonthly essays on selected topics (Monographs) along with a series of weekly sections (Works, Materiality, Delight and News). Through different online formats (portfolios, articles, interviews, photos and video essays) TRANSFER explores new ways of portraying and experiencing architecture with digital media.

Two Monographs are already online. DESERT connects two elements that a priori can already be understood as antagonistic: desert and architecture. ISLAND examines questions of human presence and architecture on islands. The Monograph endeavours to consider the archipelago as an architectural metaphor.

Based in Zurich, TRANSFER is edited by a team with extensive experience in research and architectural publishing, and relies on an outstanding network of global observers worldwide.

TRANSFER celebrates its Launch Event on September 15. The Launch of the online platform will provide the opportunity to bring together a panel of experts and encourage the discussion of matters pertaining to contemporary digital shifts and challenges in architectural edition, and to present TRANSFER's special series of artists' editions. The Event will be streamed live worldwide.
