Sreli smo se na projektu škole u Kočevju, koji smo radili s Tadejom Glažarom, Arne Vehovarom i Nickom Doddom. Matija je tada radio s nama, u biti za nas. "Uštekali" smo se i zatim s Nickom formirali biro. Naravno da svaki background i svaka edukacija donese nešto drugo. To nije samo pitanje backgrounda, nego i karaktera koji se kod nas na neki način dopunjuju. Osim što sam stariji, ja sam sa sobom donio neku histeriju, Matija je smireniji.

Koje su to dodirne točke i moment prepoznavanja?

Mislim da je to zanimanje za neke općenite teme arhitekture, za art, za dizajn. Kritički razgovor o projektu je jedan od najvažnijih "karaktera" naše komunikacije. Neke stvari se mogu brzo promisliti i komunicirati; tako kod nas nastaju projekti. Najbolje stvari nastale su vrlo dobrom komunikacijom.

Let’s begin with the fact that you come from different backgrounds and milieus. Can you put this into context and identify possible specifics of your education and development? Describe how you met, connected and created your professional partnership.

We met while working on the Kočevje School project together with Tadej Glažar, Arne Vehovar and Nick Dodd. Matija was working with us, or rather, for us.We “connected” and started up an office with Nick. Naturally, every background and education brings along something different. It is not just a matter of background, but also of personal character. We somehow complement each other there. Besides being the older one, I also bring in a certain hysteria. Matija is much calmer.

What are your points of contact, where do you connect?

I think this would be an interest in some general architectural topics, art and design. A critical discussion about a project is one of the most important "characteristics” of our communication. Certain things we can think over and communicate very quickly and that is basically how we do our projects. Our best work came from excellent communication.
