domu.
PROLOG
Kad dođem u Zagreb, a osobito tijekom Dana Orisa, moji me frendovi
aerodroma. Ja neobično volim putovati, a volim i aerodrome. Recimo
francuskim vojnicima i tehničarima, stradalog u posljednjem ratu.

The highest form of moral is not to feel at home in one’s own
home.
PROLOGUE
When I come to Zagreb, and especially during the Days of Oris,
my friends, who were my generation at university, usually ask
me: "How’s it going, Mimac, where did you say you lived?"
My answer is that I more or less live in Schiphol, Amsterdam airport,
and I travel for about six months a year. Otherwise, I live in
Rotterdam, but only some hundred metres from Rotterdam airport.
I love to travel unusually, and I also love airports. For example,
the one on the Altiplano, above La Paz and next to Titicaka Lake
at 4200 metres above sea level, with a 4-kilometre-long landing
strip due to the thin air which brings aircraft to a stop with
difficulty and with a luggage conveyor belt made of wooden strips.
The old terminal at Kas-
trup in Copenhagen is the most beautifully designed airport interior
– you feel here as if you are in a Jakobsen hotel. It is difficult
to forget the old local airports in Rio de Janeiro or Hong Kong,
where aircraft used to land almost between the houses. I also
remember that half destroyed one in Sarajevo, which was devastated
in the last war, with French soldiers and technicians.
