How can the design of the generic commercial building or architecture called by Rem Koolhass “architecture of the degree zero, cleared of traces of any uniqueness and specifics” be approached? How can a unique building be created as a mass commercial product? Medic and Puljiz from the firm Architecten Cie from Amsterdam give answers to these questions. Accanthus is a commercial building in which the anonymous square meter for an unknown user is configured as a unique, specific product. This design approach is probably the best description of the work of the architectural team Medic and Puljiz. They create added value for the contents and for the “unknown” client who does not necessarily expect such an approach.
