The Self-evidence of Space

written by Meta Hočevar

Once the eye adapts, the mind and body follow.

In times of the saturation of space (of the world) and the accumulation of forms and information, the removal of form (its absence) becomes a luxury. Space existed  before, it existed before the word; it is given and absolute. Nevertheless, for me, it exists only inasmuch as I contain it within my sight and touch. Space is, so to say, SELF-EVIDENT whenever I enter it, whenever I look at it from above in a panoramic view, whenever I wake up in it, whenever the sun rises or the bulb gives light. Space belongs to the past, it reaches into the present and I believe it also reaches into the future. Space is certainty.
