project The Reconstruction and Annex of a Family House, Udine, Italy
written by Alessio Princic

The intervention was carried out on the fringe of a residential zone consisting of one-family houses dating from the 1960s. It was commissioned in order to obtain two connected, yet independent units, one of which would serve to accommodate the parents.

Although each project is unique and special, the theme proved to be exceptionally interesting due to the fact that a large portion of the buildings, thirty years after their creation, do not meet the needs of modern living, neither in space area, comfort, installations or insulation.

The building is a smaller two-storey villa with small courtyard – garden and with an adjacent building consisting of a garage and store. The reconstruction brought together these two volumes by applying a third, connecting one.
