Photography Between Documentary Quality and Artistic Artefact

Tomaž Lunder is one of those photographers who has been best at documentary photography from the very beginning. This kind of photography does not need special scenarios or topics chosen in advance, it only needs a perceptive author who can recognize real visual impressions among the many surrounding him. It is the human figure, or to be more precise – the portrait, a motif that even the most astounding images of virtual worlds has been unable to expel from contemporary art. We may notice that beside the synthetic video-photography shown at large international contemporary visual art exhibitions, where the computer has an important role, classical black and white photography has an understandable role in the traditional artistic conception.
