The first freshwater aquarium in Croatia is entirely appropriately located in Karlovac, a town on four rivers. A long tradition of life along the rivers and their biodiversity have logically resulted in situating the aquarium by one of them – the Korana. Unfortunately, Karlovac is a city that is still today marked by war destruction, and seems to be in a worse condition than it was immediately following the Homeland War. Such a development of events resulted in a negative atmosphere in the city where life disappears from day to day.
