Last year, at a time of a total absence of competitions which fell victim to the economic crisis that had affected Slovenia as well as most other European countries, we could see the fruits of earlier competitions – realized awarded projects from several years prior to the recession. We remember the period of economic growth, large appetites and speculative, but also numerous investments, as a period of numerous competitions which offered architects potential possibilities for building, with the promise many new, high-quality, contemporary Slovene architectural works.
